The days after Christmas
This is Amandine enjoying the plaid I gave her. I was hesitating in the store, between on in polar fleece and this one with mohair. The man told me he had one at home, and that his cats were always sleeping on it but that the plaid remained like band new. He added a warning though: this plaid enduces a violent sleeping surge... I think he was right ...
In the meantime, I made this dress for the sleeping beauty above:
The dress is not perfect, but she likes it a lot, so I'm happy.

Misc.
Look at what my sister sent me! She made it herself. Aren't those notions boxes lovely, and the pincushion as well. Of course, she did not make the iron box, but what is inside: yummy waffles! She knows I cannot resist them.
While I was unwrapping, my assistant Choupette stood guard. It is getting colder and she understand gloves are made to keep your paws warm: She is sitting on my regular gloves as well as the fingerless ones...
I keep my knitting yarns in a box with a lid, to keep them away from my assistants. But they both found out how to slip it it through. Here is assistant Osiris
trying to hide away from me:

Cats
That's the new fashion here: drink from the watering can. I'm looking forward to the moment the watering can will fall and pour its contents over the cat... Don't think I'm neglecting my cats: at the same time, my daughter complains that she is stepping everywhere in dishes full of water...
One fact is sure, in my next life, I'll be a cat...

Cat-sitting
The weekend before last, I did some cat-sitting. This young lady lives next door. She weights the third of my smallest cat. But she managed to scare two of them. :-) The last one told her to watch her manners, which she did.
I let her sleep in her home, but took her with me when I was home. She felt comfortable at once, and played around a lot, until she was exhausted.

knitting, continued
I did not expect comments on the jacket and was quite thrilled to read you!
I've tried to take a picture of myself modeling it, but could not get any decent one.
There has been talks about fast craft vs slow craft. I would say I do quick craft. I mean, size and time required are two of my main criteria. This applies to this jacket. The needles are big, the pattern is easy. I only have the pleasure of knitting, without the piece turning into an UFO. I would not say it is fast knitting though, because I take the time to do it properly.
In the same spirit, my TIF is a postcard, but with time spent on the embroidery.
For those of you worried about the cats, this picture was taken this morning. The third one was under the bed...
and I have some problems ending this post, Choupette is resting half on my knees, half on the keyboard...

Rain
Not much to say, except that it is raining! First time in 6 months. I hope it will last more than a couple of minutes.
The birds too are happy. I can hear them singing in the fig tree, where the feeders are.
But not everybody enjoys the good news, thought...
At least, this one went outside, the other one takes me to each window and door and asks me to open it to check if it is raining there too...
