I don't look forward to retirement, except for one thing: being home most of the day, thus being able to have a dog. Until then, I get my dog dose from several canine blogs.
Here is a post by houndstooth of Tales and Tails I'd like to share with you.

One Of The Highlights Of BlogPaws — Hero Dogs Of 9/11

I don't think I'll be able to see the whole movie, but you may have the opportunity.
Kuster, one of the pack of Tales and Tails, is training to become a search and rescue dog. I'm sure he will be good at his job, but I do hope he'll never have to face such a hell.

Thank you for your comments on the market.
I know several of you would have loved it.

I love my salad bowl. Although I'm on my own, I usually cook my meals, and like to make them pretty.
My kitchen cabinet is full of bento boxes for lunch. I needed something for dinners and breakfast.

You are right, it was difficult to resist the shoes. I have the hope that the seller can be found at another session. The reason I was able to resist, is that I've just changed glasses.
My first choice was the middle ones, the solar on top came as free. But I liked the butterfly ones  too. I did not order them though, not at once. I decided to wait until I get the official ones and see if I still liked the butterfly ones. You guessed I did.The seller was kind enough to lower the price a bit, but not enough for another pair of shoes on the same month :-)

(I do not recommend buying several pairs of glasses: you have to decide every morning which pair you'll be wearing)
Before going to the market in Aix, I went to a garage sale, and found those cuties. Hooks, the kind our grand-mothers would use to remesh stockings. Nobody does that nowadays, and it is a shame. Maybe not for standard stockings, but I've ruined tshirts or fancy stockings with a mesh getting loose, and wished I had those hooks to fix them. The set is not complete, two of them can be fixed on a support, the other two can't, so I guess they are not of the same kind either. They belonged to the seller's grand mother. She was selling them for nothing (1 euro), but was glad I took them home to give them another live. Any advice on how to clean them?

Let's finish with a green picture. When I go in Aix-en-Provence, I park my car in a parking lot, choosing between the two in the center of town. Yesterday, I discovered those two places for electric cars. For the moment, they offer the reload of the battery. How cool is that?

Ceramic market in Aix-en-Provence

I heard about a ceramic market in Aix-en-Provence this morning, and decided to have a look. To my surprise, it was larger than I expected, but I was not surprised to see it was not really focused on ceramic. Anyway, it was a pleasure to go through the sellers booths. DSC02888 DSC02884
This one is meant for tourists, with dish clothes "typical" of the area, especially the one with pastis, our local anise-flavored liqueur. Btw, most visitors there do not speak French. And most of the French speaking ones are not local.
I kept away from this booth, although I was very tempted by the creations. Hand-made leather shoes, with beautiful designs. I'll see if they'll have a regular boot.
But I could not resist this one.The two sisters of Ikherbaneceramic are friendly, and I liked their dishes.
In fact, I have been looking for some kind of bowl to dress a salad, just for me. I almost bought some a few days ago. The color and design were nice, but they were made in plastic. For the same price, I've got those unique pieces. And I've contributed to the local economy.

I hope you all have a great week. Take care!

Sea Tangles

Speak of slow knitting! even lazy knitting.
I started this one years ago.
The pattern is by Kie Zuraw, found on Knitty, the yarn is a very fine silk, with an even finer steel wire inside bu Habu Textiles.
Stockinette, with random cables. In fact, really fun to knit. Other projects just kept coming in between...
You can see more of it here.
And my version, finished a few hours ago.

I'm very glad it is no longer on my "to do" list, and in time to be worn during summer.

I've got an award!

I'm excited, and very honored, to receive the Sunshine Award from Basset Momma.
Basset Momma makes everyday brighter by telling the stories of Freddie and Gloria.
These two cuties  give me the dose of dog breath I need :-)

Another non-textile weekend.
I had to run some errands this morning. I liked this ad:

Mother's day

It is Mother's day today in France.
My daughters could not come, but they made it a special day though.

The shoes are by Iron Fist, a fun brand.
The mug and the bag hanger come  from Britanny.
Love them all!

Sitges, the town

Hi everybody,

Life is busy, as usual, just a little bit more than usual :-)
Not much to show on the craft front. But maybe you would like to see a bit more of Sitges?
Here we go:
This church kind of splits the beach in two.
Every street has its own charm.
This is one of the sea front DSC02739
the same, seen from above
With the heat now here, I just love this one: DSC02689
