Amaryllis

I've purchased two really big amaryllis bulbs in early December, and wondered how they would be like. Here is the first one. The first stem has 6 flowers. The first time I see so many flowers on one single stem (I mean on mine!). The second stem will bloom very soon too. The orchid is from Xmas.

Thank you for visiting my blog! oh I love Amaryllis; I had the very same as I couldn't decide between the red ones and a plain white one.

Beautiful!! It reminded me of one of my favorite stories...several years back, my mother came to visit and we went to Holland to see the flowers. It was a wonderful weekend, one that I wanted to remember so we stopped at a roadside flower stand where there were about a million bulbs. I hunted and dug around and searched for the perfect bulbs. After about 45 minutes I finally made my selection. Well, when they finally grew and bloomed...they were defective or something!!! The amaryllis flowers ended up with stems that were only about 3 or 4 inches tall and one or two very defective flowers! We laughed and laughed!!
Thanks for sharing and bringing back that great memory!

Beautiful amaryllis and it looks so nice nestled with your orchid.
This flower is well worth the money when 6 blossoms are the result.

I usually only get 4 flowers on one stem and this year I have 5 on one. I have never seen 6 before.
