Spring is here!

First, go to Loose Ends. Geni has posted three videos explaining all the secrets of a sewing machine. Very interesting!
Thank you for your comments on the polar fleece jacket. However, all the reward should go to Au bonheur des petites mains, who created the pattern...

Spring is here, well, it is raining today, sigh. But the temperatures are climbing.

Those hives are in the hill. Two weeks ago, they were dormant. If you look carefully, you can see the bees flying around.

Can you see the rosemary bushes? and imagine the scent?

Too cold to work in the garden...

so I sewed!
The skirt is the same as this one
The jacket pattern is from Au Bonheur des Petites Mains

La Fare Les Oliviers

I had scheduled some gardening this week. But it was far too cold to do so. So instead, I kept on walking.
La Fare Les Oliviers is the name of our village. In case you wonder why, here is the reason:
I went walking on the other direction. On those two pictures, you can see the hill where I walked on my previous posts.
On my way, I saw an eco-friendly alarm system:
And let's finish with my favorite (not in my garden): a mimosa in bloom

PS: Lisa, I think you are right, this is probably granite.

Still walking

Here are some pictures of what I see when I'm walking in the hill above our village:
As you can see, the sky is not bright blue all the time. Nor is the weather hot and dry:
(taken this morning, at the very top)
However, spring is in the air. That is the same almond tree I showed you two weeks ago:

Nine

I went to see Nine and loved it.
I read that some are upset and preferred Chicago. I did not like Chicago. Maybe it is why I like Nine :-)
No, the reason why I like it is this. When I was a little girl, the Italian movies were at their best and made Europe dream. My sister brought movie magazines home, and they were full of images that made me dream, although I never saw most of those films. I loved the dresses and hairdos too. And Nine is just the same. An old movie magazine come true, with beautiful dresses.
And I think Daniel Day Lewis is perfect in that role. Marion Cotillard too, if you ask me. I found she was touching.
What a nice touch to have Sophia Loren in the cast, she was our goodess then, wasn't she?
And isn't it a pleasure to see women with real curves in that film?

PS: A funny thing, I keep saying "neen", as in provencal, not as the English word. The lady at the counter must have thought I was totally illiterate :-) (I went to see the English version).  Here, you would call a dear little girl "ma Nine" (my sweetie). I guess Guido would have called his lovers Nine, if he were from Provence :-).
