I'm rather proud that we can have family gatherings like this one.
A bit sorry I don't have more of Emilie on the pictures.
Yesterday I wen to a tiny exhibition in Aix en Provence, named the Road of Silk. I expected a lot of Marco Polo, and pictures and adventures. Well, it was more modest :-)
Anyway, I learnt a few things, and saw some strange machines:
This one is used to unravel the cocoons and spin several threads together.
This one weaves up to 47 thread into a ribbon
This one is also used for weaving several threads together
This is a bust ornament.A kimono, in case you did not know :-)
The rooms were so tiny I could not step back to take the pictures. Sorry.
Today I woke up to find there was no water in my pipe. Went out to check. The counter box was open, and the counter was off. Rest of water on the road. Later on, a neighbor came to tell me he saw water pouring out my garage, in the middle of the night. So he cut the water for me. I owe him a big "thank you". Now I'm waiting for the plumber. Hopefully this afternoon. Sigh...

Even though the exhibition was small it looks like it was quite interesting. I hope your pipes are full of water now. You have a nice neighbor.
So interesting
That would've been quite something to see that ribbon weaver at work.
That exhibition looks so interesting. I love the machine that would make ribbon! Sorry about your water woes. Good luck getting it fixed. :)
lovely tools, thanks for the photos.
hope the plumber leaves you with some money!
I hope the water problem isn't too major. Amazing the number of things that can go "wrong" in a house!
It is amazing what a weaver can do! Hope your water problems get fixed soon....
J'espère que tes problèmes d'eau sont réglés. Tu restes par ici ce mois-ci?
