Roses Festival - part 1

I live in the South of France, not far away of Avignon where the Popes have lived from 1305 to 1403. You can imagine they did not live in a small house... they left a beautiful palace there. Click hereto get an idea...
Anyway, for the fourth year, Jardiland (a chain of nurseries) has organized a festival of roses inside the palace. We went there this morning. It was an eye candy, really.
Here are the first pictures:

More roses on Sunday!

PS Avignon and its palace are well known for the Theater Festival that takes place in July.

I always enjoy your blog but I'm particularly grateful for the link to the site about Avignon and Provence. 30 years ago I spent a year in Apt as an English assistant at the school and I haven't been back since. I loved the area and especially enjoyed taking the bus to Avignon or Aix and spending the day wandering around. Thanks!

Maybe i'll go and check it out, but I think there's a nice rose festival coming up in May somewhere near Salagon or Manosque. Are you going?

What a beautiful setting to show off your roses. I bet you came home wanting more than one of them.

How beautiful, and wonderful to think that you've got roses already. Too early here. Thanks for commenting on my April challenge. I like yours too.

Pour moi, Avignon c'est un chant:

"Sur le pont d'Avignon l'on y danse
l'on y danse..."

It is from my grade school French class. :)
