Graffiti in Barcelona

To answer Houndstoot's comment about
this is a graffiti, Dali painted on a shutter. In real, it is quite amazing.

Until recently, street artists were allowed to paint on shop shutters. Apparently, this is no longer the case, see this article. Too bad, because those shutters were protected from wild art, and were fun to search for.
Neki, maybe you can tell us more about graffiti in Barcelona? As a visitor, I like them, but as a resident, you may have another opinion?

Here are a few more pictures from previous trips:

The idea of designated places for graffiti is intriguing. You've posted some really interesting examples.

i like the arty ones on shutters. yes, they keep the crappy ones off as it is big time offense to graffito on top of an already made one.
i absolutely dislike the "illiterate" ones which are ugly drawings at best or the so and so was here. those take up a considerable chunk of public money to efface.( off the soapbox) ^_^

So pretty!

Shutters are ugly. Giving them over to artists should be compulsory1

I hate the scrawled tag type graffiti, but those shutters are art. The authorities should do more to catch the scrawlers and leave the shop owners to make up their own minds about whether they want their screens decorated.
