Friday!

I'm glad you like the spa in Budapest. Lisa, I think we went in every pool of this spa :-) You recognize the tourists from the local people very easily: the tourists jump from one pool to another, while the locals chat quietly in one pool.
Wanda, you must go and try the spas. There are several all over the cities, with different atmospheres.
On my way back from the office, I stopped to fetch my brandnew passport, at a village I don't know very well. I found this house, and thought you may like it too.
Sharon, only the top shutter is real. The people are painted. I've been quite busy since my weekend in Budapest. However, I managed to go on with the Summer of Fun block party by Stitchin Heaven. I've saved the block of this week for tomorrow.

And on Sunday, I made this top by Butterick (B5363):
Pattern Description:
MISSES' JACKET, TUNIC, DRESS AND PANTS: Loose-fitting, unlined jackets A, B, sleeveless or have below elbow length sleeves, front and back band. Pullover, loose-fitting tunic C or A-line dress D, below mid-knee, cut-away armholes, raised waist seam with casing and drawstring. Pull-on, straight-legged, above ankle pants E has elastic casing. All garments have stitched narrow hems.
I made top C and the pants as well (no picture of the pants, I must iron them :-))
Purchased tops Pattern Sizing: BB (8 to 14, I made 14)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like all the possible combinations. For the moment I made the pants and theversion C top, but I intend to complete this wardrobe in the future.
Fabric Used: linen, solid black for the pants, black and white pattern for the top.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: shorten the height.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes, I would sew it again, and I recomment both the top and the pants.
Conclusion: A nice everyday wardrobe for hot weather
As you can see, I'm having a try at PatternReview.com and their reviews. You can see more from the widget on the right.

Budapest, Szechenyi Gyogyfürdo

Szechenyi gyogyfürdo is one of the spas you can find in Budapest.
In fact, they are much more than spas, they are places you go to to chat with friends and family, to play checks or read a book in the water.
If I remember well, this one offers over 17 pools at different temperatures from 20° to 40°Celsius, with bubbles or without, with streams or without, as well as saunas and hammams.
The atmosphere is very nice, not loud although it could be. Everything is very clean.
They say it is even better in winter, with the snow all around and the outside pools around 30° (the water comes out naturally at 70°).

Budapest, around Varnegyed (the castle?)

This is a very nice place, on one hill on the Buda side.
We went from a blue sky to a real storm, see by yourself:

Budapest, around the Citadella

On the other side of the river, one large hotel, with a spa in it. Close to the hotel is the hill with the citadella. We walked up there. Believe me, the man who sells water up there must be rich!

This is Barbie's bus! The sight was worth the effort!

Lisa, the white dog is the shop window did move! Unfortunately, the shop was not open.

Around Vaci Utca in Budapest

Annica had guessed right, I was in Budapest.

Here are a few pictures taken in Pest, around Vaci Utca.

Monday

I have just had the time to read your lovely comments about my last post.
But I have been away all weekend, so I did not have the time to answer, or to visit other blogs.
In addition, I have a new camera, and made many pictures. I must upload them now...
Until I'm finished, here is a little one. Wonder if you can guess where I have been...

Results "live"

Thank you all for your comments on the sunny top! I hope my daughter Amandine will like it. I'll give it to her next weekend :-)

This weekend has been a long one, since today is our National Day.
A very enjoyable weekend indeed.
I was browsing Facebook, telling myself I should rather be in front of my sewing machine, when one of my American friends posted a picture. Which I commented. In return, she asked me where I was in France. To make the story short, she happened to be in France, staying not very far from me, just above the only beach I used to go to when my daughters were only kids. So we spent the next day at the beach, chatting in the font of a beautiful sea. I spent a wonderful day, I hope she did too. Who said Facebook is only for geeks?

Another good news is that Sharon B. from Pintangle is back to blogging. I was missing her badly, and I know many of you did. So hurry to visit her!

Talking of visit, my other daughter Emilie was there too. I had forgotten a simple fact about her, heat and stress make her lose weight. She is hot and stressed right now. So she dropped at least one size, I would even say two. She'll gain it again in winter. (note to self, sew two separate garderobes for Emilie!). So I spent most of yesterday undoing and redoing seams. Sigh! But here are the results, and she was really pleased:

I've been working on the pants (Sarouel) last Satturday, because I knew she wanted some. I was a bit hesitant (they are a bit too extreme for me), but when I see the result, I'm glad I did! When she walks in them, she is absolutely gorgeous!

Now she is in the train to Paris, and I'm preparing all my stuff for this short week. And for the weekend ahead with Amandine.
Take care!

Wrap top, the twin!

Thank you for the comments on my last post!
This one is its continuation. I found the fabric I needed to make the second wrap top, as well as the time to do it. So here it is: Just like the sun here right now :-)
Take good care all!

Weekend sewing

Hello to all!
I hope you have a great weekend!
I'm back to my "work" routine, not much time to blog during the week... But I read all your comments on my PJs. They all made me laugh, and I'm very glad you like them. That's sure, they do improve the mood, if needed :-)
Right now I don't wear them in bed, just around bed. It is tooooooo hot to wear anything in bed, or maybe just N°5, like Marylin.

So this has been a busy week, at work, and in the garden too. One flower bed needed a good cleaning, and the tomatooes needed a good weeding. Both done in the week, after work. I plan to play with the mower tomorrow, and that'll be it for a few weeks.
So I had a whole weekend to do nothing, but indulge in my hobbies.
When I bought fabrics in Marseille, this one was not on my list. But it was impossible not to buy it. Perfect for a little top with big effect, isn't it. I've used V8559. I already used it for that. I think I'll use it again in the future.
To answer Wendy's question, the roses are ribbon sewed on a black net.

As it was quick to do, I went on with the current issue of BWOF and this little wrap top. I love this print, although it is not the one I had in mind. I'll try to find another fabric this week to make a second one. They are both "surprises". Guess who is the recipient of this one...

And I finished the weekend with the Summer of Fun Block Party .

I hope you will have a nice week!
