2009

I wish you a Happy New Year 2009!
This is the time to sum up the old year and take good resolutions for the next one.
Well, 2008 has been good on the whole, and I'm thankful for that.
Regarding 2009, my only resolution is to take life as it comes, and enjoy it as much as possible...

Purse

You can not go to a party without a purse, can't you. Since I had an hour to spent, I made this one to go with the dress:

The days after Christmas

This is Amandine enjoying the plaid I gave her. I was hesitating in the store, between on in polar fleece and this one with mohair. The man told me he had one at home, and that his cats were always sleeping on it but that the plaid remained like band new. He added a warning though: this plaid enduces a violent sleeping surge... I think he was right ... In the meantime, I made this dress for the sleeping beauty above:
The dress is not perfect, but she likes it a lot, so I'm happy.

ATC and AS received

This week brought three nice surprises:
One from Muriel:
one from Solange:

The third one was a calendar by Wurzel. Although I love every bit of it, it is difficult to show you pictures of it. It is really gorgeous, and made with pictures from her own garden. You should visit her blog to see more of it!

And while I was writing another surprise arrived:

made by the kids next door. Ain't they yummy?

I wish you all a good weekend. I'm heading towards my sewing machine...

Diwali

This is a little wallhanging I made for my friend Wurzel.
The fabrics come from India via Shangari. The name of the kit is Diwali, i.e. the holliday of colors.

Misc.

I should be preparing my stuff for the patchwork tomorrow, but I miss you, so here I am :-)

Thank you for your comments on my trip to Munich. I'll post some more photos before next year!

In the meantime, time is running. I don't know how days disappear, but they do. I fact, I know. Since I'm back from Munich, I've been cleaning the house and trying to decorate it. The proof:

At least, she has got the spirit ...
And I've been away again this weekend. To visit my eldest daughter in Paris. The weather was not good, to say the least. So no pictures.
We did some Xmas shopping, had dinner at a nice corsican restaurant, and went to the Muséee de La Mode, where there was an exhibition about crinolines. I wish I could show you pictures. All the dresses were just gorgeous. Most of them made of silk. Sigh.
Then we went to Palais de Tokyo, officially to see some modern art, in the truth because it was too cold to cross the Seine to go another Musee :-) We ended the day in a Japanese restaurant.
The aim of the trip was not tourism, but just being together. And I met the nice guy she is sharing a flat with. Not a boyfriend, just a friend.
But now, I really have to prepare my stuff for tomorrow, and myself for bellydancing tonight.
Take care all, especially those lost in the cold!

Spell on me...

I did not do anything this weekend. But I have an excuse: Did you guess where I was? Yes, in Bavaria.
I'll post several times about this weekend in the near future.
I had not been near Germany or Austria for a very long time. Since I built happy memories there as a teenager, I was completely under the charm as soon as I landed in Munich. And even more when I was in Linderhof, one of the castel of Ludwig II. It was like a fairy tale, the Alps, the snow, the silence and the beauty of the place. Since then, I kept dreaming of it ... He must have put a spell on me... and "worse" I dream in German...

But first of all, my friend Wurzel made it all happen. She invited me over to her place. We met for the first time at the airport, and we had a wonderful time together. She knows a lot about Bavaria and its culture and history. And she is so very nice. That's the wonderful part of Internet, meeting a person from far away, and feeling as if we had knew each other for ages.

Thank you very much Wurzel!!!

My color

I've tried the test for fun. The result is rather me, indeed.

You Are Grass Green

Down to earth and a bit of a hippie, you are very into nature and the outdoors.

You accept the world and people as they are. You don't try to change things.

You are also very comfortable with yourself, flaws and all.

Optimistic about the future, you feel like life is always getting better.

Misc.

Look at what my sister sent me! She made it herself. Aren't those notions boxes lovely, and the pincushion as well. Of course, she did not make the iron box, but what is inside: yummy waffles! She knows I cannot resist them. While I was unwrapping, my assistant Choupette stood guard. It is getting colder and she understand gloves are made to keep your paws warm: She is sitting on my regular gloves as well as the fingerless ones...

I keep my knitting yarns in a box with a lid, to keep them away from my assistants. But they both found out how to slip it it through. Here is assistant Osiris

trying to hide away from me:

Have a nice day all!
